The Vicar’s Voice: Mother Michele Whitford

Alleluia! Christ is risen! We have come through a Holy Lent, we have gathered with the disciples in the upper room to celebrate the institution of Holy Communion and followed in Jesus’ example of washing feet. We have stripped the altar and kept vigil with Jesus through the night. We have heard the Passion according to John and waited with expectation for the glorious resurrection. That declaration has come! Jesus is risen, he has conquered death and made all creation new. We now enter a long tradition beginning with Mary Magdalene, St. Peter and St. Paul of those who have been transformed by the risen Christ. We get to share the wonderful news that Christ has died, Christ is risen and Christ will come again. I encourage you to share the Good News in both word and action with all you meet every day.

In His Mercy,

Mother Michele+

We Lift Them to the Lord! Wheelchair Lift Campaign

The contracts have been signed, and construction will begin in the next couple of weeks to install our new wheelchair lift. The areas of the church where the lift will be installed are being cleared and made ready. We have raised more than half of the cost of the lift through fundraising and generous donations from you. The remaining $28,000 will be covered by a loan to St. Paul’s from the Diocesan Trustees. To repay the loan, we will begin a capital campaign to Lift Them to the Lord one inch at a time. The lift will travel 112 inches from the first floor to the lower level allowing full access to the Fellowship Hall for everyone. Durng this campaign we are asking you to prayerfully consider pledging to donate an amount equal to one or more inches. Each inch the lift travels is equal to $250.00. If you pay for an inch in one year it breaks down to a one-time payment of $250 or $21.00 per month for 12 months or $5.00 per week for 52 weeks. You can also choose to pay for an inch over the next 2 years. This would be two annual payments of $125.00 or $10.50 per month or $2.50 per week for two years. Please pray about this and make a pledge for the lift project that will make our Fellowship Hall accessible to everyone.
