Dear Beloved of God,

As I announced last Sunday, I want to encourage the St. Paul’s congregation to take a Sabbath during the month of August. This doesn’t mean don’t come to church on Sunday!! What I mean is we are not going to do anything extra for the month. The regular services, maintenance, Sharing Closet, Paper Drive will continue, but I am asking that we all intentionally take a rest from anything extra. We have gotten the lift installed and blessed, we have had a very successful brat fry, we have done so much in the way of cleaning and reorganizing we need a rest. We’ve been working very hard and burn out is a very real thing. Take some time, pray, and relax, take refreshment in the beauty of summer.

Rest in the knowledge that you are a beloved child of God. You don’t have to do anything to be loved by God.

In His Mercy,

Mother Michele+

Christian Formation

“Teach me, O Lord, the way of your statutes, and I shall keep it to the end. Give me understanding and I shall keep your law; indeed I shall observe it with my whole heart”—Psalm 119:33-34

  • Regular Sunday School and Adult Formation will begin this fall on September 30, 2018. Classes will begin at 9:00 and conclude at 9:45am.
  • The Children will meet in the Youth Room from 9:00 -9:45 and will have a new curriculum (still to be determined.) There will also be movie nights for the whole family. A schedule of events will be forthcoming.
  • The adult class will begin Bible 101. This class will be discovering what the Bible is and what it isn’t. We will learn to read the text in its historical and cultural context. We will discover the different genres and why it is important to understand the differences. All are welcome to join the class, no knowledge of the Bible is necessary.

Nick’s Group

Wednesday, August 15 from 6:00pm-7:30pm is the gathering of Nick’s Group, a support group for families who have lost a loved one to a drug overdose. Julie Walzack lost her son Nick last July to a drug overdose and tried to find a support group to help her through the grieving process. Julie couldn’t find a group that met her needs and decided to start this group that will meet the 3rd Wednesday of every month. If you know of someone who has lost someone to drugs, please tell them about this group. If you have further questions, call or text Julie at: 920-838-2562.

Education for Ministry (EfM)

Do you sometimes wonder why you go to church & what it means for your life today? Do you hear or read scripture & wonder what it means to your life now? EfM or Education for Ministry was created to accompany people on the Way of Jesus to help them reinterpret their lives & their world in light of the gospel with a trusted group of friends. Our identities are gifts from our Creator & are grounded in trusting God’s calling in our lives. We don’t have to write our own stories for we are already part of God’s story. Two groups are starting September 10, 2018. The Monday group meets at 9:30 am and the Wednesday group meets at 4 pm. Sign up by August 15th in order to get your materials before the first class. Cost is $375 and this includes college credits and all your materials. Scholarships are available, so don’t let the cost keep you from participating.
